5 Ways to Create More Space in Your Phone

Phones! What would we do without them? Our livelihood and routine significantly depend on these pocket gadgets. Making calls, setting up reminders, alarms, texting, socialising and even browsing all happen thanks to mobile devices.

However, sometimes we encounter impediments that slow down these portable machines. Freeing up space is the primary way that helps restore these gadgets to their perfect state. Want to know what you have to do? Read along.

How to Free Up Storage Space on Your Android Phone

Delete old files

Let’s face it; we all have videos, photos and music files that we are attached to. Sadly, these take up so much space especially if you are hoarding files from years ago. Rather than make your life miserable and force your phone to work twice as hard, get rid of anything that is not useful to you. Memes should be the first things that fly out the elimination window.

Older photos or duplicate ones are next on the list. Keep one or two copies of similar pictures and delete the rest. Any unimportant files should also follow suit. These include word, pdf, excel, or slide show files in your phone. Ebooks and journals that are not useful anymore are also part of the list of things you have to scrap off.

Use lighter browsers

Browsers are some of the culprit’s that take up so much space in your phone. Some of the heaviest browsers in the market are Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. They take up so much RAM, a factor that contributes to slow performing phones.

These browsers are pretty fast, which is why most internet users prefer them. However, you can always opt for lighter browsers that don’t necessarily require you to sacrifice a lot when it comes to speed. So you can still go about your daily online browsing, be it for shopping around, catching up on the latest news, or browsing for the best online casino bonuses. Find a balance. And if you clear enough space, you can still keep your regular one too.

Utilise online storages

Have you ever thought of transferring your data to the cloud? I mean, there are so many storage options that offer free and paid storage on the internet. What’s more, moving your files is easy. You simply have to sync the phone to your preferred storage destination, select all the things you want to move to the internet and click send. It works instantly. Of course, you need to have an active storage account to do this.

Get an SD with more storage

Apps, videos, images, music, and other files take up a lot of space in an external disk. Once you discover that yours is almost full, it is time to get a bigger one. This way, you can transfer more apps to this tool and ease the burden on your phone’s internal memory. Once this happens, you won’t see those pop-up messages that warn you when your phone’s storage is almost full.

Delete heavy apps

Facebook, YouTube, Chrome, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Pinterest are some of the applications that eat up your space. These take up more than 40MBs when you initially install them on your phone, but once they become functional in your device, the numbers double or triple.

If you have a laptop, you can easily get rid of most of these apps and use your machine to browse, instead. This will help you be more conscious of the time you spend on social sites.

If deleting these apps is impossible, you can compromise on the quality of the experience you will have by choosing Lite versions of these applications. Most importantly, remember to delete all cache since this builds up every time you visit the internet.
