While the PS5 and Xbox One X may be the center of attention, the PC remains one of the best gaming platforms available. Several high-profile blockbusters have been released in recent months, but the following year appears to be even better. Here are the greatest upcoming PC games being released before the end of 2022 if you’re looking for your next big PC game.
How are we expected to sort through the deluge of announcements, videos, and teases to decide which of the new PC games we should devote our finite enthusiasm too? We’re in a terrific position to advise you on which games to save up for. The following are the upcoming PC games that you should keep an eye on.
Elden Ring has a chance to be the biggest game of 2022, which would have seemed unimaginable to anyone who played Dark Souls a decade ago. Elden Ring is Dark Souls 4 in every way except name, with a vast, ambitious, and approachable, open environment, unlike anything FromSoftware has created up to this point. Although die-hard Souls fans may not enjoy the open-world concept as much as they did in previous FromSoftware games, it is likely to be the factor that persuades millions of new players to try Elden Ring.
Monster Hunter Rise
Monster Hunter Rise was one of the finest Switch games in 2021, and it’s set to take over the PC in 2022. Monster Hunter Rise, which will be released in January, will have significant changes over the Nintendo Switch version, the most noticeable of which is a substantial graphical overhaul. Apart from the improved fidelity, Rise will have you hunting dozens of colossal animals, collecting hundreds of unique materials, and teaming up with a few friends to take on the game’s most tough content. So if you missed Rise in 2021, now is the perfect opportunity to catch up.
Adventures of Pip
Adventures of Pip, developed by Tic Toc Games, is a side-scrolling, action-platforming game with an intriguing premise: evolving and devolving a pixel-based hero between his 1-bit and 16-bit forms to fight through levels of goons and bosses. Despite the limited scope of its weaponry and power-ups, the game has a lot of heart and charm thanks to its innovative premise, gorgeous settings, and fun gameplay.
Football Manager 2022
Improved animation for your players, a new staff meeting system, and updated tactics and player metrics are all included in the latest version of Sports Interactive’s notoriously addictive football management game. Even the tiniest tweaks improve the overall experience, resulting in a rich, realistic management simulation that gives thrills both on and off the field.
Rainbow Six Extraction
This co-op shooter, a blend of Rainbow Six Siege and Left 4 Dead, has a lot to live up to. More monsters will hinder your efforts to gather information on the strange menace as you progress further into the thick black alien slime. Fans of the series will recognize a lot of what Extraction has to offer, but it’s a departure from Siege’s ultra-competitive esports shooting action.
It took 16 years for a genuine successor to the original Psychonauts game, but it was well worth the wait. The charm, pure inventiveness, and tremendously enjoyable platforming are all back in an almost direct continuation of the original tale. In Psychonauts 2, you take on the role of Raz. A young Psychonaut trainee tasked with entering the minds of several persons to investigate some sinister goings-on. But, of course, each mind has its own world, its own look, and feel, resulting in an ever-changing experience. And, while the tale and images are whimsical and playful, they are nevertheless captivating.
Baldur’s Gate 3
Larian Studios is producing a true and proper sequel to the franchise that inspired it after establishing its RPG mettle with the Divinity: Original Sin games. Baldur’s Gate 3 picks up where Shadows of Amn left off, drawing inspiration from the original Baldur’s Gate games and the Divinity franchise. In 2020, an early access version was published, and despite certain flaws, it showed a lot of promise. It will be released in its entirety in 2022.
