Ever since Stephen Colbert announced his run for president, I’ve been keeping an eye out for his web strategy. After all, this is the guy that mobilized 17,231,724 people to go online and vote to name a Hungarian bridge after him.
He still hasn’t come up with anything fun (yet), but an interesting report shows that Colbert’s site ColbertNation.com is the fourth most-visited site among the candidates.
Bill O'Reilly may think he's taking on DailyKos with his seemingly daily attacks on the liberal mega-site. But if you look at the numbers, he's doing them a huge favor. Traffic and membership registrations on DailyKos are surging.
Earlier this week Bill O’Reilly unleashed an attack on the Yearly Kos convention — calling Daily Kos “one of the worst examples of hatred America has to offer” after citing a handful of reader comments out of thousands. He then singled out JetBlue, one of the convention’s corporate sponsors, and chastised them for sponsoring the convention. While O’Reilly’s hyperbole isn’t surprising, it shows such a lack of understanding for how the blogosphere operates that even presidential candidates have come to Yearly Kos’ defense.
