Wisconsin Recall Fight Heats Up Online
BY Nick Judd | Wednesday, July 20 2011
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy for America Wisconsin are out with a new ad today in the Wisconsin recall elections, Talking Points Memo reports.
The $100,000 initial broadcast and cable buy, which targets Republican state Sen. Luther Olson, depends on online fundraising for continued play beyond its scheduled one-week run. Both groups are out with emails to their national lists today seeking support. Olsen is one of 19 GOP state senators; the Democrats have 14, and are hoping that recall elections — spurred by the passage of legislation that kneecaps public workers' collective bargaining rights earlier this year — will give them control of that house of the legislature.
PCCC says this is the first joint ad buy with DFA in Wisconsin since recall elections were triggered in that state.
