Wikipedia Knows What You Edited Last Night, Capitol Hill

The press secretary of Florida freshman Republican congressman David Rivera has been editing her boss's Wikipedia entry, reports Politico's Marin Cogan. Doing as other staffers have before her, Leslie Veiga scrubbed the Rivera entry's lengthy "Controversies" section ("Domestic Violence Allegations, "Mail Truck Collision," "Additional Source of Income," "Dog Track Payments,") but, despite Wikipedia's prohibition on autobiographical editing, defended her work to say that all she had done was to "add factual, documented information and remove false, undocumented allegations."
Whatever her aims, Veiga's editing seems to have made things even worse. The Controversies section is back up on Rivera's entry this morning, with one addition -- a note on Politico's story on Veiga's polishing of her boss's entry.
