White House Social Media Survey Results: The State of Our Twitter is Strong

Most people who follow the White House on social media are over the age of 35, the administration announced Friday, on its blog.
Fifty percent of Facebook survey respondents were over the age of 50, while on Twitter, only 32 percent of respondents were older than 50. A combined 62 percent are over the age of 35, the White House's Erin Lindsay wrote on the administration's blog.
According to the White House, survey respondents want more "news-oriented posts" and "interactive posts" — ways to engage with administration officials — and more notice for live streaming events.
The White House blog did not carry any serious criticism, if there was any, from the survey — nor did it release any of the data about the people who follow the White House using social media, just a scattering of top-level information. Still, it's interesting to note that most of the White House's connections on social media — 2.2 million followers on Twitter and over 1 million fans (likers?) on Facebook — skew older than your average tweeter.
