State GOP Cheesed Off Over Email Request Criticisms

Remember the case of William Cronon, the University of Wisconsin history professor who wrote about the state's recent labor battles and then found his university email records being requested by the state's Republican Party under Wisconsin's open records law? Over on Slate, Dave Weigel gets an email from an angry Wisconsin GOP executive director, who writes "I have never seen such a concerted effort to intimidate someone from lawfully seeking information about their government" -- a sign that the GOP is doubling-down the idea that Cronon's job as a professor at a state school makes him a public employee the same as if he were an elected official.
