Say Goodbye to Data.gov?

The Obama White House is prepping to pull down open government sites like Data.gov, the IT Dashboard, and FedSpace, reports the Federal News Radio's Jason Miller, based on the comments of one anonymous government official.
As we've discussed, funding for the E-Government Fund that provides for those and related projects has been caught up in the Hill's budget drama. For reasons not entirely yet clear -- Oversight? Clumsy cutting? Intention? -- budgets being proposed slice allocations to the fund. Without it, the Obama administration lacks a clear way to pay for all the experiments in openness and transparency that have become something of a hallmark of this presidency. Stay tuned.
