Minnesota Workers' RSS Feeds Are Telling Them When to Get Back to Work
BY Nick Judd | Wednesday, July 20 2011
Minnesota state workers are expected to check the web for information about when to return to work as the government shutdown there ends, the Associated Press reported Tuesday via WJON Radio:
The administration of Gov. Mark Dayton says state employees idled by the shutdown can check a state website to know what day to come back to work.
A special session is gearing up Tuesday night with Dayton and Republican legislative leaders aiming to pass a state budget compromise and end the shutdown.
NPR reports that Dayton and state legislators reached an agreement today that will end the shutdown, which has been ongoing since July 1. The state website has been offering information since before the shutdown, such as: "Will the Employee Self Service web site be available?" (Yes — it was up throughout the work stoppage for public employees.)
As promised, the site offers a return-to-work date: Tomorrow, July 21, beginning 6 a.m.
