The De-Googlization of Everything? Google Exec's Congressional Testimony Begins
BY Nick Judd | Wednesday, September 21 2011
Just a reminder that momentarily, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee's antitrust subcommittee, live-streamed on C-SPAN and Sunlight Live, among other places.
The growing ubiquity of Google has come with a growing chorus of grumbles that it has accumulated too much influence over the way millions of people around the world experience the Internet, from it search engine, the growing market share of its Android operating system for mobile phones, to its free GMail email service.
Google seems intent to frame these complaints as sour grapes from business owners miffed at poor search rankings and competitors unable to keep up with the mammoth company.
So: Grab the popcorn!
