China Keeping Tabs on Microbloggers' Organizing, Crude Poems

Chinese authorities are cracking down on perceived challenges that are popping up on 'microblogging' platforms, reports the New York Times' Michael Wines in a pair of articles. They are, reports Wines, objecting to grassroots independent campaigns for public office that have been making use of microblogs, and recently sent to a labor camp a retired worker who wrote and posted on the Tencent platform a "stanza of crude verse" about a Communist party leader.
