An Army of One. And One. And One. And One...

The Guardian's Nick Fielding and Ian Cobain dig into the fascinating, if chilling Operation Earnest Voice's "multiple personas" project, a $2.76 million contract that sets up U.S. Centcom with fake online Arabic/Farsi/Urdu/Pashto-speaking social media profiles "to counter violent extremist and enemy propaganda outside the U.S."
One place, perhaps, this differs from offline subterfuge: each puppetmaster back at Centcom is meant to control ten personas at a time.
