The Web on the Candidates

  • Marianne Richmond at Blog the Campaign in 08 takes a look at the blog on Hillary Clinton's site and find something missing: Hillary.
  • Mitt Romney is trying his best to replicate Barack Obama's Facebook popularity. However, the University of Arizona's student paper, the Wildcat, points out: "Of the 36 posted photos of Romney's life and campaign, he seems to only interact with white people. (Note to the Romney 2008 campaign: These things can be both an asset and a liability.)"
  • Patrick Ruffini takes issue with the notion, propagated by Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, and, well, most every other candidate, that campaigns are -- or should be conversations. "Candidates need to know how to converse. But they also need to know how to lead. They need to be able to stand on principle, even if that means telling everyone that they’re conversing with, 'Sorry, but you’re wrong.' When America is under attack, I don’t want my President to have a conversation with me. I want him to lead."
  • As videos surface on YouTube that purportedly show John McCain flip-flopping on abortion, The Hotline wonders if we are witnessing the "first YouTube war between different candidates' supporters." The Hotline post links to David Brody of the Christian CBNnews.com, who questions McCain's stance on the issue. Meanwhile, Ruth Marcus and others are questioning Mitt Romney's changing views, backed by a parade of videos that show Romney changing his views on the position. James Kotecki has a good video post about Romney's use of YouTube. More to come, for sure.

The Candidates on the Web

  • Mitt Romney has started airing TV ads, and is hosting them on Mitt TV. The station, hosted on his site, features several channels, among them "Meet Mitt," "Events," "Issues," and "Fun," which includes a video called, "The Wisdom of Aunt Connie and Aunt Ruth."
