The Conventions, As Viewed Through Foursquare Check-Ins
BY Miranda Neubauer | Tuesday, August 28 2012
Time.com has launched an interactive Foursquare map for both the Republican and Democratic conventions that will highlight updates from newsmakers, media and convention attendees as they check in to Tampa and Charlotte. The map will also track trending places and help to showcase Time's guide to each convention. The RNC map is available on Time's website.
The application will only display updates from people who have signed up for Time's Foursquare application. On the Republican side, the map is already showcasing updates from Mitt Romney, Chris Christie, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and TIME's political team. On the Democratic side, the map will feature Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America's Paul Rieckhoff, TIME's political team and others.
Attendees of both conventions who follow Time on Foursquare will be able to unlock Time Foursquare badges, gain access to a list of recommended venues and events and check as convention tips from Time's political reporting team.
Time and CNN also recently launched their Convention Floor Pass mobile app.
