Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel just appeared at his scheduled 2:30 p.m. Facebook town hall. The event is beginning now.
"As I understand it, we've had over 500 questions submitted. Over 8,600 votes," Rahm Emanuel said, saying it was a testament to the love people in Chicago have for their city.
"When I was in Congress, I used to do this thing called Congress on your corner, and I would do office hours at the grocery store," he continued. "And we actually submitted the Elder Justice Act because of a story a woman told me about me her father.
"Now, you're not going to solve world peace," Rahm later continued, explaining why he's participating in the event. "But you are going to get a germination of an idea ... that may help solve something."
