While at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg today, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev offered words of encouragement to the video game industry:
"Before talking politics, I would like to thank Mr. [Peter] Vesterbacka for creating an occupation for a huge number of officials who now know what to do in their free and not-so-free time. I saw them [playing the game] myself many times."
Medvedev, one of the most active world leaders on Twitter and a frequent participant in conversations about democracy online, announced in early June that government officials would draw up a legal framework for a Creative Commons-style free licensing system for the Russian-speaking Internet.
