Gandhi's 76 year-old grandson, Arun Gandhi, says that if his grandfather were alive today, he'd be tweeting, Facebooking, and otherwise capitalizing on social media outlets. "He tried to expand his work far and wide. He tapped into everything possible, newspapers and radio," as in, the media of his time, the Star-Telegram reports him saying during the younger Gandhi's visit to Texas Wesleyan this week. It's an interesting take, in particular, because Gandhi had his issues with high technology and modernity. Actually, he seems more like an Etsy kinda guy.

But for the record, "a 'no' uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a 'yes' merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble"? He could have tweeted that bit of wisdom with 22 characters to spare.
