North Korea, More Digital Than You Might Think

BY Nancy Scola | Friday, March 18 2011

In this month's Atlantic, Robert S. Boynton reports that Chinese tech cast-offs, thumb drives, radio, mobile phones are getting used by North Koreans and allies in South Korea and Japan to produce reports from inside the so-called Hermit Kingdom that go, in part, to add reportage to coverage in outlets like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. A fascinating read.
