- Through digital photo, the White House lets it be known that Omaha's own Warren Buffet came by for a visit yesterday. A bit of color from the meeting: Obama noticed Buffett's tie was frayed, and spontaneously gave him a new one. Good. Man could use a helping hand.
- Politico reports that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid are both headed to Las Vegas next week to appear at Netroots Nation, the first time that the Democratic leaders of both chambers will address the annual blogospheric event in the same year. Cheryl Contee of Jack and Jill Politics will host an Ask the Speaker session with Pelosi, and Daily Kos's Joan McCarter will do the equivalent for Reid.
- Speaking of liberal bloggers, Greg Sargent comes to their defense after Politico's editors critique them as spending more time worrying about Dave Weigel's exit from the Washington Post than the mid-term elections.
- The Republican National Committee prepares for the launch of GOP.com V1. RNC new media director Todd Herman details the need: "Individual Americans like you are what stands between our Constitution and President Obama's radical leftist agenda. With GOP.com V1, you'll be better equipped than ever to win that fight."
- Thousands of emails go out to military members from the Defense Department, asking for feedback on Don't Ask Don't Tell.
- Blogging about a Brooklyn case where Census works seemed to have use the Internet to speed up their head count, Census Director Robert Groves calls such shortcuts "abhorrent."
- Wired.com tracks Wikileaks' income and outflow.
- Strategy.nano.gov launches. Finally, a place for me to share all my good ideas on the National Nanotechnology Initiative's strategic plan.
- Is our "culture of immediate gratification" partly to blame for the congealing wisdom that Obama's a disappointment? Perhaps, but... Sorry, where were we? My TweetDeck binged.
- DARPA's red balloon guy heads for Microsoft.
- Joe Hagan notes John McCain spokesperson Brooke Buchanan, who "shadows him everywhere and writes his Twitter feed."
- And Harvard's Berkman Center schedules a time next week to discuss where tech meets the upcoming presidential election in Nigeria. It's in Abuja, but you can watch online. Unless you're in Abuja. Then it's at the Yar’ Adua Centre.
