White House Widget Calculates Recovery Act Tax Breaks

During the 2008 race, the Obama campaign scored an online hit with what they called their "Obama-Biden Tax Calculator." Aimed at distilling the confusing rhetoric of the race into tangible numbers made plain for American families, the calculator churned out estimates of what, the Obama campaign said, you yourself would save under their proposed middle class tax cuts.
Well, the Obama organization is going back to that well one more time. Posted on the White House website is a new web widget. They're calling it the "Recovery Act Tax Savings Tool." Answer eight basic questions about your personal finances and other individual circumstances, and the tool boils down all of the Recovery Act's many tax provisions into a simple reading of which tax breaks, in particular, apply to you.
