And conservatives, too. But that flowed better. Hunch, a newish site from the folks behind Flickr that wants to help you make decisions, has dug into the cache of social data they've amassed thus far to take a look at the delicious intersection of political self-identification and self-reported food preferences. With the rather super-sized caveat that we're talking about a survey pool that consists only of people who have thus far played around with Hunch, answers to 25 million "Teach Hunch About You" questions do suggest some fun correlations between political leanings and what we put in our tummies.
Hunch's data suggests that while the french fry has well-deserved universal appeal...sorry, mind wandered there to thoughts of the sweet, sweet fried potato...conservative Hunchies state a preference for the Mickey D's variety while their liberal counterparts say they'd rather eat pommes frites. Other stuff righties like: fried chicken, Trefoil cookies, and Velveeta. Lefties would rather chomp on green curry, Samoas, and brie. Seriously, we are our stereotypes. Perhaps most compelling is that conservatives can spot an apple corer at ten paces, while liberals think its some sort of a torture device or something. Which raises the intriguing idea that a "kitchen gadgets conservatives/liberals like" report might be in the works. That would be fun and potentially enlightening.
