Update: Stephen B. Smith, Director of Online Communications for the Romney for President Exploratory Committee just emailed to let us know that the Full Announcement Video is on MittTV. Glad to see they are listening.
Governor Mitt Romney announced that he's running for president today but I can't find the video online.
His website has a transcript of the announcement speech and some speech excerpts on Mitt TV, but I can't find a full version of the video.
When you click on "View the Archived Version of Governor Romney's Streamed Announcement" you get this message:
Please register here to reserve your spot and ensure that we remind you when the event is about to begin. Then bookmark this page and come back to it Tuesday morning at 9 AM Eastern to see history in the making, streamed live to your screen.
That's not right.
Update: There a new link on MittRomney.com that says "View Governor Romney's Full Speech on Mitt TV" that links to the full announcement video.
Head over to Governor Romney's YouTube channel and the most recent video is 5 days old.
With all the success other candidates have had with their announcement videos, I wonder why it's not easy to find the full version.

Why the Delay...
The explanation for the delay in posting the online version is actually quite simple. In contrast to other candidates, who posted pre-recorded, CANNED versions of their announcements (note that Hillary Clinton's was probably taped in the summer, based on the foliage outside the window), we wanted to bring people the real thing. So we covered it with three cameras, set up an edit studio in a nearby hotel room, created a three-camera cut within 4 hours, and posted it to the net about 5 hours after the announcement.
Could it have been faster if we're pre-recorded it? Of course. But we thought it would be important to take internet viewers there to help be in the moment (note that we also live-streamed it), so we took a few extra hours to get the best possible end result.
In most cases, I'd take genuine over lightning-fast any day. It's a long campaign.
