Huckabee watching has led me into whole new worlds of the blogosphere. Of course I knew there must be a Christian blogging community, but it wasn't until three major Christian bloggers endorsed Huckabee today that I started poking around some more. These are the three:
• Joe Carter
Evangelical Outpost
• Justin Taylor
Between Two Worlds
• Matthew Anderson
Mere Orthodoxy
Carter is going to be speaking at Godblogcon, held November 8-9 in Las Vegas. Should be a fascinating event. Some of the other godbloggers are worried that Huckabee is too troubling to economic conservatives to go anywhere, but others just like him.
Scriptorum daily had a podcast yesterday with John Mark Reynolds and Fred Sanders--Fred likes Huckabee, but Mark likes Romney. Huckabee "doesn't show any ability to move outside the social conservative constituency to the wall street part of the party, the big money part of the party, what are often called the economic conservatives...in fact he says things that are offensive to the economic conservatives." Fred says he's a conservative because of the social issues, so this doesn't move him so much. Its just a sliver of what must be going on the godblogging community, and should be on fascinating display in Vegas, baby, Vegas, in November.
PS: I eat my hat on Huckabee and Meetup. He's not pushing it, and its not going anywhere. Ron Paul supporters, I stand corrected.
