Spreading Labour's "Word of Mouth" Far and Wide

The Labour Party's "Word of Mouth app" got a brief mention below, but it's worth another mention. The idea, you might have guessed, is for Labour to make use of their supporters' existing social networks to build some momentum behind the struggling party. After logging into the unified interface with the details of your Twitter and Facebook accounts, Labour's Word of Mouth tool makes it pretty trivial to take eight different pro-Labour actions on your social networks with just a few clicks.
Updates to your Twitter feed and Facebook status box are, of course, the basics of Word of Mouth site, but there's more. Labour fans can chose to either "donate" their entire avatar, making it a full Labour logo, or instead have the party's simple rose logo added in the corner of their photo. They can chose to set their Twitter background to a Labour-themed sky shot, and invite their friends, via Facebook, to vote for Labour.
With Word of Mouth, the effort involved in demonstrating your support for Labour online is the very definition of minimal. The application is powered by software called Taobase, created by London's Tangent Labs.
Labour seems to be having some success with it. Earlier today, the Labour Party's Twitter account at @UKLabour reported that their chosen hashtag, #imvotinglabour was on Twitter's trending list, though it's not any longer.
