Source Materials: Gov't Affidavit in Domain Name Seizures
BY Nancy Scola | Friday, December 17 2010
Here's a bit more on those "Cyber Monday" seizures of the domain names of alleged copyright-infringing websites by the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement division. The folks at paidContent have gotten ahold of an affidavit from one U.S. special agent that was used to get a seizure warrant for the domain names of sites like OnSmash.com and Torrent-Finder.com. The resulting court warrent "commanded [the involved registrars] to seize within 14 days of the issuance of this warrant, the property specified above (the Domain Names)." (via Benton)
paidContent's Joe Mullin has more on what's in the affidavit, and the full document is after the jump.
