Man Gets 15 Years for Bringing Internet to Cuba

Part of the early pitch for Hillary Clinton's forays into the Internet space as Secretary of State was that connecting the world was a humanitarian, not political, imperative. Cuba begs to differ. Alan Gross, an American working on a USAID contract to bring satellite telephones and computers to Cuba's Jewish communities in the hopes of connecting them to to the Internet, was sentenced Saturday in Cuba to 15 years in prison for "acts against the independence and territorial integrity of the state." Clinton has been demanding his release.
