Making the Online Pitch for Pyongyang

The Australian Broadcasting Company's Mark Willacy has a long at how North Korean officials in Pyongyang are turning to Twitter, YouTube, and more as part of a strategy of world domination -- or at least showing up their neighbors to the south. Here's Willacy:
North Korea's YouTube channel is a visual tribute to the achievements of the motherland and its subjects. Viewers can trawl through dozens of clips. And now Pyongyang has also set up its own Facebook page and has begun tweeting on Twitter.
Renowned for its ability to hack computers, Kim Jong-Il's regime is now on a cyberspace charm offensive according to North Korea expert Toshimitsu Shigemura.
For their part, folks in power in Seoul are warning South Koreans not to engage with the so-called Hermit Kingdom online. Says a government spokesperson, "We will examine how to apply the law to South Korean citizens who have contact with North Korea's global social network sites." Here's the rest of Willacy's piece.
