Lunching on Ethics Reform with Eisen and Chopra
BY Nancy Scola | Thursday, January 14 2010
For those of you looking for something to do around lunchtime on the east coast, you could do worse than to watch the live web briefing and chat from White House ethics counsel Norm Eisen and U.S. CTO Aneesh Chopra on the topic of "Fighting Against Special Interests and For the Public Interest: A Year of Change." The event starts at 11:30 ET (okay, so it's an early lunch) on White House.gov/live. It's probably worth pointing out that one thing that's changed over the first year of the Obama Administration is that the White House's ethics watchdog and the nation's chief technology officer don't immediately jump off the page as a totally odd pairing. The White House really seems to have embraced the idea that ethics in politics equals, in many ways, transparency, and that transparency is brought about in this day and age through technology.
