You might remember that I seriously geeked out on the plain language movement a few weeks back. The focus there was a on the suggestion made by a federal employee that bureaucratese makes it all the harder for government to engage online. This morning NPR's Morning Edition did a piece the Center for Plain Language's recent awards for the best examples of awful government and corporate writing. The also interviewed CPL's founder. Turns out, she was a federal worker for a quarter of a century. "I just got so tired of all that bureaucratic and legalistic writing," she explained.
