AP's "Web site" Change Validates Online Campaigning as a Life Choice

Tracy Russo, a Democratic campaign vet now heading up new media for the Justice Department, is declaring victory in a campaign she helped lead to get the AP stylebook to end its insane practice of dictating that what everyone else in the world refers to as a website be properly written out as "Web site." Russo launched a Twitter push this winter to get people to email the AP and beg them change their ways, piggybacking off of a 700-member Facebook group with the same noble mission. The AP raised the white flag earlier today.

Reached on IM, I joked to Russo that clearly online campaigning isn't just for political campaigns anymore. She wrote back a pearl of wisdom: "No, it's a life choice."
